Toilet Training Boys – Tips, Guides and Everything You Need To Know

Discipline and Patience is the key! ;) This is how I toilet train my son.

Toilet Training Boys

Actually potty training boys is no different if you are trying to toilet train a little girl. So all potty training tips that you will learn here will be both applicable to either a baby boy or girl. Also I would like to add, that its probably a little different if you are trying to teach autistic children to use the potty, but I guess there are not a lot of difference.

With all that said, here are a number of tips that you may want to try in teaching your toddler to use the toilet.

- The schedule of your training session is important. When we say schedule, sure it’s the time of day but it can also be the season of the year. It is advisable to start potty train your boys duirng summer time. Why? Well, those are the warmer months and usually toddlers are lightly dressed. Also, if possible it is better if you are at home for a consecutive number of days (like a week leave from work or something).

- Make sure you can change his clothes fast. This is why the first tip, schedule it during warmer months, is important. As much as possible don’t let him wear overall as this is a big hindrance in undressing and dressing him up. This will slow both of you down and you will not like that specially when he have to go now.. as in RIGHT now! :)

- To start the training session, you may want to begin stopping the use of nappies at home. Of course, he must still wear those when you go to friends house, or shopping or in the car but if you will be at home, try to refrain from putting nappies on him while he’s on the potty training session.
