Response to Dealing Tantrums

In my post about Dealing With Tantrums, there’s a hanging question there that i was not able to answer. That is because, I myself do not know how to handle such situation.
The question was: how do we deal with tantrums?
I’ve search for a while and found an article of Ms. Nina Chen, a Regional Specialist, Human Development department in Jackson County, Missouri.. Her article points several interesting facts and advises:
- Don’t demonstrate behavior you don’t want your child to imitate. – This is true. If you child screams and shake and throw himself on the floor, don’t snap and be physical. You’ll regret it.
- Avoid physical punishment – When a child does become angry and a temper tantrum occurs, the most important thing you can do is to avoid physical punishment.
- Accept your child’s anger. – Let the child know that it is ok for him to act that way. If the child is expressing his tantrums in a not suitable ways, suggest other ways the child can express her feelings.
The article is a good resource. I recommend you read it full here.. This is not about life insurance quotes. It’s all about self help and development and about parenting.
