We have an ‘Ate’ or eldest sister, and I have 2 younger brother. Nelson, my younger (3rd child) just found out that he’s going to be a father soon too!

First of all, congratulation for the blessings.

I’m not really sure but I think they found about it a few days ago. They had a couple of checkup already with their OB-Gyne and had an trans-vaginal Ultrasound.

Pretty soon, he’ll be discovering lots of things about pregnancy just like what I had when my wife was pregnant (twice). During the whole pregnancy period he’ll found out that pregnant women tend to have low blood pressure, like 90/60 or something.

He’ll soon also be familiar with medicine that are associated with pregnant women, like vitamins such as moriamin, or natalbez, natalwiz and others. My wife also has this Bricanyl tablet to help her with the immature contractions but hopefully my future sister-in-law will not have to take that one.

Pregnancy is a long period but before he know it, he’ll be carrying his first born on his arms… Welcome to fatherhood!

On your first visit to your doctor, as we said before, he will perform a thorough physical checkup. This will help him with his future diagnostics and more importantly detect any possible problem that could be experienced during my wife’s pregnancy.

Usually most of the discussion will be between the wife and the OB/Gyne. This is more intimate but at the same time must be relaxing for both of them since this will be a more regular meet ups.

As promised before, here are the prescribed medicines that was given to us during our first visit:

Amoxicillin (500mg) – this is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Apparently, my wife had some sort of infection.

Canesten – Another topical treatment of fungal infections.

Duvadilan – brand name of a medicine called isoxsuprine. This medicine is used to relax muscles (arteries, muscles of uterus etc.). In general this medicine is being prescribe to prevent premature labor. I guess in our case, maybe it has something to do with C-section.

Amino Acid – building blocks of proteins

Folicard

I was expecting Natalbes since that was what her OB before during her first pregnancy. Probably has something to do with the anti bacterial or the antifungal medicine.

The doctor also told us the expected due date. In this case it’s March 9, 2008. That’s a few months more!

Anyway, tomorrow will be my wife’s third visit (and I haven’t posted the 2nd one yet!)… Let’s see what’s the learning and exciting news this time.

Till then!

PS: these stuff are all for female stuff.. next time we’ll try posting more masculine, more macho topics, including trucks, bulldozer, rock tumblers and other macho stuff.

My wife was 5 or 6 weeks pregnant when we went to the OB/Gyn. How did we know that it’s 5 weeks preggy? Well, the doctor told us. We went to see the OB a few days after my wife told me that she’s pregnant! We have to make sure – 100% sure. So went and see the specialist.

Here’s the first notes that was given to my wife:

It’s not that clear, I know but what is says is basically the vitamins she has to take. (Will ask the wife what those are and insert it here.)

It was July 14, 2007 when we first see the OB. And just like any other doctors, they had a short get to know session. OB/Gyn usually do this to better know their patients and to get a more complete medical history. This is also a way for a female to relax after all this session and future ones will be very intimate and somewhat very uncomfortable examination.

On the first visit to the doctor, a complete physical exam is always done. This is to spot any early signs of potential trouble. The doctor will be monitoring her height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, will perform laboratory urinalysis and whole other things.

Not sure if my wife has hers but, palpation of the abdomen is one of the major tests and will continue throughout pregnancy.

That’s it for the first visit… Will post the second one in a few days.

Meanwhile, enjoy every part of the pregnancy days… remember, she’s not fat.. no need for Phentermine
