Bricanyl – Medicine To Stop Premature Labor?
There are things to know about premature labor that I learned when my wife got admitted to the hospital few weeks ago when she felt some contraction on here belly.
During those days, I keep on hearing Bricanyl and until now, I still encounter that medicine. I just bought 15 pieces yesterday in Mercury Drugs besides BPI in Dela Rosa, Makati.
Bricanyl was also included in here dextrose during her stay in the hospital. 3 dextroses!
According to her OB/GYN, Bricanyl stops the premature contractions which may lead to premature labor by relaxing the muscle.
Bricanyl…. contain the active ingredient terbutaline, which is a type of medicine known as a short-acting beta 2 agonis. Terbutaline works by acting on receptors in the lungs called beta 2 receptors. When terbutaline stimulates these receptors it causes the muscles in the airways to relax
So, when my wife said that she has ran out of Bricanyl, I have to rush to the nearest drug store and got myself a few… at least enough for her next OB GYNE checkup which will be this Tuesday, February 26.
