Baby Writing ABCs
As promised from previous post, here’s a picture of my son scribbling his favorite letters in the early hours of the morning (every morning!).
Too bad I couldn’t show you the actual paper he’s using here. I need to buy myself a decent scanner. But believe me when I tell you that my 21 (going 22) month old baby can write letters very legibly!
He can write (his favorite) ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘S’.. He can also do ‘H’,'I’,'J’… etc… almost anything if he wants to.
Tip to future parents
Don’t let your child learn the ABCs the old fashion way, that is, by making the baby memorize the alphabet in memorizing the Alphabet Song.
Why?
Yes, sure he would know the whole alphabet (and in order) but does he know what letter ‘H’ look like? If you say ‘Baby, where’s letter V?’ can he point it to you?
I suggest you teach your baby what every letter looks like so he can recognize each one! That’s what my baby can do! Honestly, he doesn’t know the song (he just murmur the lyrics) but he knows every single letters!

awww.. reminded me of my mom’s story about me learning the ABC’s all by myself.. I had this small blackboard with ABC written on its border, and a clock on the lower right side. I scribbled there every morning, too.
Hi! Ang galing ng anak mo. My son is almost of the same age and he can’t write letters yet. But he do know each and every letter of the alphabet.
Good job in teaching your kid. You should be really proud.

Yes, I am proud.. pero lam mo ba, we did not teach him to write.. he just grabbed a pen and wrote something… medyo kamuka sa ‘A’ so he said, ‘A’!

Wow ang galing naman ng baby mo. Sa rated K ni Korina, may na feature na 2 years old pa lang na marunong ng magsulat ng name at magbasa, pati mag spell!
Proud parent din ako. Marunong na rin mag identify ng Alphabet, numbers at shapes ang baby ko bago pa sya mag 2 years old. Confuse lang sya sa lowercase, kasi minsan pag d or b or q sinasabi nya P.
Now kaya nya ring i-identify ang 10-15 flags, pero pag dating sa color, nagkakamali sya, hindi consistent! hehehe. Hindi pa sya marunong magsulat, yung madadaling letters lang kaya nya like A, V, I, O, Q yun lang, tsambahan pa… haha!
Sinusubukan ko na rin syang turuan mag-read pero lately puro laro sa labas ang gusto, kaya wala pang natututunan… although yung mga binabasa ko sa kanya kabisado nya na yung iba.
Hindi pa sya nakakapanood ng Sesame Street, Barney at Dora ang fave niya. He’ll be 3 on March 27 and still bulol.
